A great deal of work is involved in organizing and running the Confab in the Corn. The responsibility of planning and running the Confab belongs to the Foundation President. The actual work in planning and running the Confab is done by the various Fly In Committees.
TRANSPORTATION: Chairman Mark Buchner
Responsible for securing and operating transportation for Confab airport operations and travel to and from Clinton Airport and area hotels.
FOOD: Chairman Kirk Wennerstrom
Responsible for providing meals and beverages for the Fly-In. Contracts with local vendors to provide dinner on Wednesday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Thursday, breakfast and lunch on Friday, and the Fly Away Breakfast on Saturday. Setup and operate the Wednesay Pizza Lunch, Thursday Night Luau, and Friday Night Banquet.
HOTEL: Chairman Kirk Wennerstrom
Responsible for securing discounted hotel rooms in the Clinton area for the Confab.
SAFETY & SECURITY: Chairman TBD
Responsible for establishing and enforcing safety and security requirements as required by the insurance carrier.
FORUMS & SEMINARS: Chairman Catherine Cavagnaro
Responsible for creating, scheduling, and conducting forums and seminars.
CONTEST: Chairman Dan Winnie
Responsible for creating, conducting, and scoring all Confab aerial and ground contests.
AIRPORT OPERATIONS: Chairman Mike Nass
Responsible for preparing the Clinton Airport for the Confab, including cutting the grass, cleaning the hangar, setting up the showers, and securing porta-potties. Also responsible for creating and implementing the Confab aircraft parking plan.
MEDIA AND ADVERTISING: Chairman TBD
Responsible for getting the word out to national aviation outlets and local media about the Confab in the Corn.
FINANCE: Chairman Wayne Westerman
Responsible for collecting Confab fees and paying Confab expenses. Also responsible for creating new sources of revenue for operation of the Confab.
SOUVENIR: Chairman Mark Buchner
Responsible for securing Confab T-Shirts, hats, patches, etc. Work closely with Finance Committee to create new souvenir items for revenue enhancement. Responsible for securing contest trophies and Confab awards.
REGISTRATION: Chairman TBD
Responsible for registering, and greeting all Confab participants.
